FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the cost to register?

$240 per player for residents of the City of Boca Raton.

Non-residents must pay an additional $65 fee required by the City (we just collect this fee and pass it along).

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any refunds.

When and where can I register?

Girls 7-8U (instructional), 10U, 12U, 16U

Boys 7U (instructional), 9U, 11U, 13U, 15U and 18U

What are the different age divisions?

Registration for residents of the City of Boca Raton will begin Monday, March 2, 2026.

Registration for non-residents will open Monday, March 9, 2026.

Player registration will close and the wait list will open on Monday, April 14, 2026.

Registration is exclusively online at www.playbrbc.com.

Which division will my child play in?

We use the same September 1 age cut-off date as the Palm Beach County School District. That means your child must be the required age on September 1. For example, if your daughter is 11 or 12 years old on September 1, then she will play 12U.  If she is 10 then she will play 10U, and if she is 13 she will play 16U. Athletes may request to play up in an older division (but not down). To complete registration, you must upload proof of age, such as a birth certificate or passport.

When are games?

Approximately 10 regular season games (indoors) plus playoffs (indoors). Expect about half the games to be played on Saturdays and half during the week. Games will be held at Sugar Sand Park and a variety of local schools.

When are practices?

One weekly practice (outdoors). Our coaches are all volunteers and will select a practice time based on their personal schedules and court availability. This means we do not know the practice times when we roster the teams, nor will we be able to guarantee a specific practice time.

In addition, we will host optional player development clinics throughout the season.

Do I have to attend evaluations?

Yes...even if you played BRBC last season. We want the teams to be fair. In addition to evaluations, we have several questions in the registration forms about your child's basketball skills and experience. Using that information, combined with our evaluation process, we will make every effort to create parity within each division.

How do I get a uniform?

Online registration will include fields for both jersey size and shorts size. Coaches will distribute uniforms at practice.

Can I volunteer to coach?

We hope you will! Coaching is an amazing way to make a positive and lasting impact on our children (including your own) and our community. Even if you've never coached before, we are here to support you with training, skills/drills and coaching clinics.

Can I pick my teammates and/or coaches? What if I'm volunteering to coach?

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate friend or coach requests. However, if you are volunteering to coach, you can request a co-coach. We want you to enjoy coaching, and will do our best to accommodate requests (provided coaching together doesn't make the teams unfair). There is a field in the coach registration form for you till fill in your requested co-coach. Email us if you have questions.

Attendance and participation.

Players who have the most fun and who learn the most are generally the ones who feel most connected to their teammates and coaches. Camaraderie and friendships are built during the laughs and hard work of practice and games. Consistently showing up is vital to making your child's experience a success.

Attendance is also critical to making fair teams. We want everyone to participate and have fun, however, BRBC reserves the right to replace a player who is unable to fulfill his/her commitment to the team.

Coaches are required to report to a BRBC representative any two (2) consecutive absences at practices and/or games.

What height rim and size ball for each division?

Girls 7-8U, Boys 7U:  8' rim and Women's ball.

Girls 10U, Boys 9U:  9' rim and Women's ball.

Girls 12U, Girls 15U, Boys 11U:  10' rim and Women's ball.

Boys 13U, 15U, 18U:  10' rim and Men's ball.

Women's ball is Size 6 (28.5cm). Men's ball is Size 7 (29.5cm).
